The 856 series features lift lever operation. It differs from the 859 series which has split spindle nightlatch operation.

Operation: Lift lever.
Latch reversal: Undo the screw in the side of the lock case adjacent to the latch. Remove the latch, reverse, reinsert and repace the screw.
